CPR Classes

CPR CLASSES Healthcare Provider CPR classes will be offered at Southern Hills Career Center, 9193 Hamer Road, Georgetown, OH, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Following the American Heart Association guidelines, learn how to perform CPR at the level necessary for hospital, nursing home and EMS employees. This course will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately 4 hours depending on the number of students enrolled. To register, call Southern Hills Adult Education at (937) 378-6131 Ext. 357. FORKLIFT OPERATORS TRAINING COURSE

FORKLIFT OPERATORS TRAINING COURSE Southern Hills Career & Technical Center is offering an OSHA approved training course for forklift operators, focusing on the safeoperation of forklift equipment. Students will get hands-on training operating a forklift. Class begins May 6 and will be held on Monday and Wednesdayevenings from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for two weeks. HOUSE AUCTION! SOUTHERN HILLS CAREER TECHNICAL CENTER FUN DAY

On Saturday, May 4, Southern Hills CTC is hosting a school-wide event to raise funds to send students to future state and national career technical student organization (CTSO) competitions. Under the direction of Campbell Auctioneers of Ripley, an auction of surplus items begins at 10:00 a.m. At noon, the Carpentry program’s house will sell to the highest bidder. The house is 1456 sq. ft. with three bedrooms, two baths, living room, kitchen, laundry room. Also to be auctioned is an 8’x10’ salt box storage shed and a 10’x16’ gambrel-roof barn.  READ MORE...
Small Engine Repair Classes

The Small Engine Repair class at Southern Hills is a fun way to spend your Thursday evenings. The focus of this class is repairing small horsepower gasoline engines used in snow blowers, lawn mowers, and chain saws. This will be a great way to get your lawn mower and weed eater ready for spring! Students are encouraged to bring theirequipment in to class. The next Small Engine Repair Class starts March 21,2013. The class will meet on five Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Southern Hills Career Center located at the corner of U.S. 68 and Hamer Road in Georgetown. The Business and Finance program at Southern Hills Career and Technical recently participated in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Region 13 competitive events. The students competed with other business students from Amelia, Batavia, Grant Career Center, Laurel Oaks Career Center, Live Oaks Career Center, and Ohio Valley Career Center.
